The dynamics of co-parenting can be challenging and at times difficult to navigate. Throughout COVID we have certainly seen the need for increased communication between parents. In our blog Co-Parenting through COVID we put together a few tips for parents that were having to navigate some new areas in the midst of a pandemic. As students have returned to the classroom and many are in a virtual classroom we put together a few reminders and suggestions to help your virtual co-parenting journey.
Co-Parenting Virtual Learning Checklist:
- FOLLOW THE POSSESSION SCHEDULE—Even in the midst of virtual learning the possession schedule stands. You are still legally required to follow the order that the Court has outlined. If you have questions or concerns about your possession schedule setup a consultation with one of our family law experts.
- SHARING LOGIN INFORMATION—Ensure that both parents have all the login information and passwords for children’s classroom accounts.
- COMMUNICATING DUE DATES— Create a game plan for how you will communicate due dates so that both parents can help ensure the deadlines are met. Ensure that both parents have access to any project lists or assignments.
- SETUP AT BOTH PARENTS’ HOMES—Ensuring that children have access to their virtual classroom at both parents’, or caregivers, homes will allow for more flexibility and make the exchange process easier.
- IN-PERSON COMPONENTS—Follow the CDC guidelines for any in-person learning components. In addition, the CDC has put together helpful suggestions for keeping children healthy during COVID-19.
